Qwizdom is pleased to announce a new Professional Development Program, ReadySet...Achieve, that leverages our 25 years of experience in instructional technology and research of renowned education experts. Designed to help you effectively use technology and classroom strategies to enhance the learning experiences of all students, ReadySet...Achieve can be custom-designed to fit your needs. Incorporated into the program are on-site workshops, support, and online trainings to ensure success in the following areas:

Sessions:
ReadySet...Achieve Professional Development Programs vary in length, running between 2-8 hours and scheduled over a specified number of weeks. Realizing your time is valuable, our program is designed to fit into any schedule, offering both on-site and online workshops. The technology necessary for the Professional Development program is provided, although having laptops and personal planning resources available will assist you in getting the most out of the sessions.
ReadySet…Achieve is a 2 hour program of on-site training, the scheduling of which can be customized to meet your needs. Realizing that your time is valuable, our program is designed as an after-school workshop.
The Professional Development Program consists of 2 hours of on-site instruction and training. The focus is on using technology to facilitate ease and immediacy of assessment to improve learning1. Topics of discussion include an investigation of relevant state standards, backwards mapping2 to create questions matched to standards, and practice tagging questions with appropriate standard(s).
Participants will be trained using the technology of Qwizdom’s SRS hardware and Connect software and online system features.

ReadySet…Achieve is a 4 hour program combining 1 on-site visit and 1 online session, the scheduling of which can be customized to meet your needs. Realizing that your time is valuable, our program is designed as after-school workshops. The duration of the program is 3 – 6 weeks, whereby users can apply the technology and techniques between sessions.
ReadySet…Begin consists of 3 hours of on-site instruction and training. The focus is on using technology to facilitate ease and immediacy of assessment to improve learning1.Topics of discussion include an investigation of relevant state standards, backwards mapping2 to create questions matched to standards, practice tagging questions with appropriate standard(s), and a brief survey of learning styles. Participants will be trained using the technology of Qwizdom’s SRS hardware and Connect software and online system features.
ReadySet…Maximize consists of 1 hour of online instruction and training. Primary emphasis is on using formative assessment3 data to improve student outcomes. Drawing from a variety of Qwizdom reports, participants will view and work with data from a diagnostic pretest they have administered to one of their classes. Discussion will take place regarding exporting data for use in district or other third party/grading systems. Training will also review standards-based assessment and instructional techniques.

ReadySet…Achieve is a 6 to 8-hour program combining two on-site and two online components, the scheduling of which can be customized to meet your needs. Realizing that your time is valuable, our program is designed as after-school workshops. The duration of the program is 4 – 8 weeks, whereby users can apply the technology and techniques between sessions.

ReadySet…Transform consists of 1 hour of online instruction and training. The focal point is practical classroom applications. Included are best practice suggestions for classroom use, group discussion and sharing of alternative instructional strategies, demonstrating uses of a wireless slate or interactive whiteboard, spontaneous assessment, and automatic grading of existing curricular materials.
ReadySet…Go! consists of 3 hours of on-site support and sharing (may be less, depending on needs). Instructor troubleshoots with participants. Together, group participants further brainstorm, share, and discuss ideas. Participants share ideas on how to expand their students’ higher level thinking skills by allowing the design, creation, and presentation of student-generated lessons. Participants may wish to invite capable students to part of this session to allow for student creation. Discussions will also include how to incorporate International Society for Technology in Education(ISTE) standards into the curriculum.
